On first glance this looks like another of those "learning math games" that your teacher would pull out on a Friday to try to trick you into doing more math. Once you start playing you realize that if your math teacher HAD pulled out this game, you probably would have liked them a lot more.
The game itself is easy to learn: make the player after you make a total over 9. Sounds easy, but with the different cards and abilities on them it often doesn't work out the way you plan. People can have positives, negatives, zeros, and even cards that reset the number completely, and you only know the cards that you currently hold.
We've played the game a few times now since it plays very fast. Our longest game was 15 minutes with most being down in about 10. Scoring is easy as well, since you only have to count the number of cards you end up with, not the points they are worth.
