Fun game solo or with friends

Dead Therapist is a really fun interactive game. It really makes you work to figure out the puzzles! Some puzzles were more challenging but the clues really helped solve them and move forward! Make sure you have a paper and pen/pencil to help. Although once you've played through the whole game you're done, I'd enjoy watching someone new try their hand at figuring out the game!

    4+ hours of fun!

I invited my 14yo to work on this with me, and while we took breaks, he was invested enough in the puzzle to spend the whole night working on it. Some of the hints were more like spoilers, and my kiddo guessed the answer way early, but we had a great time playing together, and we'd definitely do another one if we could.

An escape room board game with butts

My wife and I love Escape Room games and mystery games, so this was right up our alley. We really enjoyed playing it with our friend group.

It is disappointing that it's a single-use game, but that's how all mystery games are (except I guess randomized ones like Clue).

Overall though, the game was lots of fun. I just wish we could play it again for the first time!

Fun Cooperative Mystery, but Needs "Pause Points"

This game was ultimately a lot of fun, and our group really enjoyed the cooperative problem-solving. We do wish it were better advertised as a 'one and done' experience; we were careful to preserve the evidence so we could pass it along to another group afterward.

Because it's meant for a single playthrough, we only had a set amount of time allotted. We wished there were designated checkpoints or natural stopping points so we could break it up across multiple days. Instead, we felt rushed to reach the end—had we known, we wouldn't have rushed and would have found a place to pause.

That said, the core gameplay was great! Hints were available whenever we needed them, and the answer-checking system gave us confidence before moving forward. We had plenty of laughs and loved working together to solve the puzzles.

So much hilarity, but no replayability.

When we first received this game, we were stoked to have a new addition to our collection, especially knowing it was written and illustrated by The Oatmeal himself. We gathered together our Mormon parents and my brother, forewarning them that 17+ for a game made by Exploding Kittens could mean anything from butts, to boobs, to some choice F-bombs being dropped. With that disclaimer noted, we headed to therapy.

We too turns reading the cards, laughing hysterically at the drawings of decapitated depictions and talk of pork nipples in our taco meat....

Between the 6 of us, the game, dinner and dessert, it took around 4 hours to finish. Everyone had a great time, even with the bird vaginas and having to explain to my poor mother in law what "phallic" means.

Overall, the evening was awesome and the game was so much fun! The puzzles can get quite tricky and we had to resort to reading all the hints on a few to get through it. We were constantly either overthinking or under thinking.

The main "gripe", if it's even a gripe, is that you can only play it ONCE. So now we have a kick ass game that'll sit and collect dust, unless we glue envelopes back together and reset it for someone else during a White Elephant party.

Also, my mom in law says she could've gone without so many bombs of the F variety, but hey, that all part and parcel for a wholesome Sunday bloody Sunday.

    Good luck!
